Thanal conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on February 2, 2025, at the Iqraa Thanal Super Specialty Early Intervention Centre, jointly organized with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Genrobotics Medical & Mobility. This event was meticulously designed to advance knowledge in pediatric rehabilitation, specifically focusing on disability interventions, and drew participation from approximately 80 pediatric healthcare professionals and stakeholders passionate about disability rehabilitation.
Dr Mohammed Asheel the National Professional Officer of WHO India, inaugurated the session, marking the beginning of a day filled with insightful discussions and presentations. The event began with a welcome speech by ANOOP K T, followed by a presidential address by Dr. Idrees and a keynote speech by Dr.Anver PC The facilitation throughout the program was expertly handled by Afsal Muttikkal, Dr. Sajna Saeed, and Dr. Rajesh T.V., and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Suveen S.
Two key panel discussions enriched the program’s content. The first panel focused on Genetics in Pediatric Rehabilitation, where Dr. T.P. Ashraf led discussions on early interventions in neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Nisha M. provided insights into the timing and relevance of genetic testing in neurodevelopmental disorders, and Dr. Mohandas Nair explored the ethical dimensions of genetic testing.
The second panel explored Robotics in Pediatric Rehabilitation, featuring Dr. Naveen Anaswara MPH,CPH. discussing global models and innovations aimed at advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3 through robotics in pediatric rehabilitation. Jaleesh P. shared perspectives on the future trajectory of robotics and AI in this field, while Jasna U. highlighted recent advances transforming pediatric rehabilitation practices.
The day concluded with a quiz competition, reinforcing key learnings and promoting participant engagement. The CME program provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary learning and collaboration among healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing pediatric rehabilitation practices.
