On Children’s Day, Thanal Daya Rehabilitation Trust, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), hosted a landmark international conference at the Iqraa Thanal Super Specialty Early Intervention Center, Kozhikode. The event brought together leading doctors, academicians, policymakers and social sector professionals to discuss a National Framework for Early Detection and Intervention for children at risk of developmental delays.
With Kerala witnessing a rise in high-risk infants despite a declining IMR, experts stressed the urgent need for strengthened scientific and community-based intervention systems. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Adheela Abdullah, IAS, who highlighted that early intervention is not just a clinical service but a social movement to ensure every child receives timely support and opportunities to reach their full potential.
More than 200 delegates participated in plenary sessions, paper presentations and policy dialogues. The event was graced by national and international experts and led by the dedicated team at Thanal.
Together, we move closer to building an inclusive future where every child thrives.
